Windows 2000
Please follow the steps below
to verify that your modem is installed correctly on Windows 2000.
- Press the Start
button on the Windows task bar and select Settings à Control Panel. The following screen will appear:

- Double click on
Administration Tools. The following screen will appear:

- Next, double click on
Computer Management. The following screen will appear:

- Next, double click on
Device Manager. The following screen will appear:

- Double click on
Modems. The following screen will appear:

Please note: In the example above there is only one modem
listed. A Rockwell 56000 External Modem PnP #2. Your computer may
have more than one modem. If you have more than one modem installed on
your computer they will all be listed. Also: If there is no
modem option showing, you have not installed or configured the modem
correctly. Please contact your hardware manufacturer for assistance.
- Double click on the name of
the modem you want to test. The following screen will appear:

- Click on the Diagnostics
tab. The following screen will appear:

- To test the modem and verify
that it is installed correctly, you need to press the Query Modem
button. You should see something similar to the following:

- There are now several lines
of information in the box above the Query Modem button. As long
as you see the lines of information the modem is installed correctly. If
you do not get any information, please reinstall the modem or contact the
hardware manufacturer for assistance. NROTC does not
