Pictured here is a shed in the back yard of a waterfront home that is for sale in Essex, Maryland, less than two miles from NROTC
Headquarters. The front of waterfront homes face the water. The back yard typically faces the street. Note the "For Sale" sign.
The photograph above is the back yard and home taken from the street.
This shot is taken from the side of the house aimed over the front yard and Deep Creek, a tributary of Back River, which flows into the upper Chesapeake Bay. It is a single floor dwelling. Mike Theriault, NROTC's National Military Affairs Director and Vice President, Acting, stands by to put the house in perspective.

(Above) This photo shows the front yard and front of the home taken from the shoreline. This project does NOT begin until NROTC raises $350,000.00 in funding, which represents the seller's asking price. If such funding is obtained, we intend to use this home as a retreat and getaway for those needy and in many cases homeless Baltimore area Veterans who are working their way through the very difficult McVets recovery program. McVets is doing a really great job!... Learn more about McVets. This waterfront home could provide these rebounding Veterans with much deserved recreation and relaxation. We believe that getting them out of the city and into a less structured, relaxed waterfront environment could really go a long way. Water related activities such as boat cruises, jetski rides, fishing and crabbing can be good for the soul. We do intend to have a few boats and a jetski or two tied up at the pier. Due to the cost of this project, NROTC has been reaching out to major funders to help us accomplish this goal. We remain enthusiastically hopeful. For more details, contact NROTC President, Tom Ruley. |
