This job provides you with the ability to work your own hours and allows you the freedom of taking personal time whenever needed. Honestly we do not care all that much about your employment history as long as you are an honest and trustworthy person with communication skills! We are willing to hire entry-level candidates as well as experienced sales professionals.
WHAT DOES MATTER TO US – is how you will apply yourself to the job we offer! You can have all the experience in the world but if you are unable to get excited about our employment opportunity and do the work it takes to accomplish results, this may not be the ideal employment situation for you.
While we are able to provide you with all the training you will need to get started… we cannot do the job for you!… You will need to be a self-disciplined self-starter who is capable of working best on your own with little or no supervision!
Purchase a leather or imitation leather 3-ring portfolio from any office supplies store.
(If money is tight just start with an inexpensive 3-ring binder)
*Print out our “Sales Kit” pages
*Insert each of our 11 presentation pages into clear plastic page protectors.
*Insert these presentation pages into your “Sales Kit”.
*Spend time here on our website and become very familiar with who we are and what we do.
*Practice saying our professional “Sales Presentation” while flipping through your presentation pages until you feel you’ve got it. You don’t need to be perfect at it.
*Get dressed in business attire or casual business attire, grab your “Sales Kit”, get in your car and go out Business-To-Business FUNDRAISING!!!… There is no timeclock!… You are never late for work!… Knock off when you feel you’ve done enough for one day.
*Need to take a day off or a morning off to take care of personal business?… No problem.
*We do expect you to work at least 25 hours per week.
Practice on your first 50 prospects. You might be surprised with the results! The more presentations you deliver, the better you will become and the easier it will be.
Unless you are instructed otherwise, your territory is your home city/county. Work your territory thoroughly. Your goal should be to call on every business within it. After you are showing ongoing production, we can talk about enlarging your territory.
If a Division Manager is assigned to your area you will be required to work at their direction.
This is a .zip file. It’s a huge file. It will take some time to download. You will need to unzip it.
Use carbon paper. Give one to donor. Send other to NROTC. Show us you are serious and we will send you carbonless donor receipts.
If you print these on card stock, onion skin or other quality parchment, your certificate will more likely be wanted by your prospective donor. You may want to invest in inexpensive frames for your certificates, making your donor prospect want to write you a check and immediately put it on his office wall!… See Field Presentation script.

Your Weekly Donations Report:
At the end of each week we want you to sit at your computer for a few minutes to send your Weekly Report. It’s easy to do just go here: www.nrotc.us/weekly-field-sales-report
Hint: Print your report before clicking the submit button and enclose this with the checks and donor receipts that you mail to us each week.
For now, whenever logging in, leave “Employee ID#” blank. You will be assigned this number shortly. Send in your printed Weekly Report, all checks and a copy of all donor receipts each week before noon on Mondays by U.S.P.S. “Priority Mail” to:
PO BOX 34093
BALTIMORE MD 21221
Helpful Hint: Use BLANK 3×5 index cards!
Use your 3×5 cards two ways. First, keep a stack of about 30 blank cards wrapped with a rubber band in your pocket. Get yourself one of those tiny little staplers too. Now as you are making your sales calls you will have a way of taking notes on each business you call on. Use your stapler to staple any business cards you pickup to a card. Using these cards is especially helpful when calling back on businesses where you did not get an interview on your first call. Be sure to get the owner’s name so you know who to ask for when you return. After you put notes on each card move it to the back of your stack. You may need to call on a business a few times before you get the interview. After four or five attempts without an interview write “NG” (No Good) on your card and don’t go back there again unless you really feel it’s worth it. If you are working smart you will use these cards to route your calls for the next day.
Second, when shopping for your 3-ring portfolio, get one that has several inside pockets. Insert about 10 BLANK (not lined) cards in one of the pockets. (See “Sales Kit” photo above) Now as you are closing for a donation dollar amount, pull out one of your cards, write down three donation amounts and lay this on your sales kit in front of your prospect. (See Field Presentation Script)
As with any new job there is typically a learning process involved. We are doing our best to provide as much information as we can here on our webpages. We suggest that you take the time to do your necessary reading to internalize how we do things here at NROTC. We know this process involves following many internal links and jumping back and forth between various pages.
