July 2009 – NROTC SENDS GOLD STAR SERVICE BANNER TO THE FAMILY OF:
U.S. Army PFC Devon J Gibbons
Age 19 from Port Orchard, WA
Lost on June 23, 2006 at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, of injuries sustained April 11 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle during combat operations in Taji, Iraq. Gibbons was assigned to the 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

July 2009 – NROTC SENDS GOLD STAR SERVICE BANNER TO THE FAMILY OF:
U.S. Army Captain Thomas J. Casey
Age 32 from Albuquerque, N.M.
Lost on Jan. 3, 2008 in As Sadiyah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire during combat operations. Captain Thomas J. Casey assigned to the Military Transition Team, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Kenneth P. Hauprich, Jr.
Age 22 from Jamestown, OH
Lost on Nov. 8, 2007 when a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter attached to the 1st Battalion, 214th Aviation Regiment crashed 22 miles southwest of Aviano, Italy.

Lost on July 10, 2008 in Babo Kheyl, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. Sergeant Samson Augusto Mora was assigned to 1st Battalion, 294th Infantry Regiment, Guam Army National Guard, Barrigada, Guam.

They were all assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based at Fort Bragg, NC.
