Donations are the life’s blood of any charity and donations for the most part, do not magically drop out of the sky or arrive unsolicited. As part of our national fundraising team, you’ll be helping us accomplish our mission.

Your job will be to host “CARD SIGNING DONATION TABLES” in front of Walmarts and grocery stores and such throughout the entire USA. We also setup at Gun & Knife Shows, Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Expos as well as various other community events. Anywhere there are people!

employment opportunity

A simple donation table like this one is all you need!

NROTC will coach you on how to schedule table setups… Its simple and easy!… If we have an Event Coordinator assigned to your area they can schedule table setup events for you.

SCHEDULE SETUPS AND EVENTS ANYWHERE IN THE USA!

Let’s look at a few examples:

*Bob and Mary are Bluegrass Music enthusiasts. They travel the Bluegrass Festival Circuit up and down the East Coast and setup their table at these events. Bob is also pretty darn good on the fiddle.

*Jim is a Gun Nut. He sets up his tables at Gun & Knife Shows over a five state area in the midwest.

*Elaine and Bill love to setup their table at Car Shows. They trail their classic car behind their RV and like to enter their car in the competition for prizes.

*Ed and Gina are Snowbirds. They summer in New Jersey and winter in South Florida. Working for NROTC allows them to do this.

*Steve and Janie just love being around people and going places they have never been. They usually get themselves booked at various Community Festivals in the summertime.

*John and Susan love traveling to National Parks and other historic areas throughout the USA. Commissions from setting up their donation table a couple times per week covers their fuel costs while on the road.

*Mike and his wife are Bass Fishing Finatics. They pull their Bassboat behind their RV and love traveling to various fishing hotspots across America. They do very well any time they setup their table at a Bass Fishing Tournament.

*Brad and his wife setup at the big Flea Markets wherever they want to go. We have a list of over 2300 of these. What a great resource!

EXPENSES, EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT:

NROTC allows expense reimbursement in cash paid daily for certain expenses such as mileage at 25 cents per mile within 100 miles from your home or RV camp, road tolls, initial table supplies, additional table supplies, any table setup or registration fees that may be charged by any event promoter and gratuity items purchased from NROTC or any other vendor.

Any and all reimbursements are limited to 25% of the amount in your donation container.

WE ARE NOT ACCOUNTANTS BUT…
CERTAIN TRAVEL EXPENSES MAY BE DEDUCTIBLE !!!

*You should keep all of your expense receipts INCLUDING FUEL!… because if you itemize your taxes each year, subject to IRS Rules, other unreimbursed expenses are usually deductible when associated with employment or business activity.
*You may be able to write-off these expenses as ” Unreimbursed Employee Expense”.
*Travel expense to and from scheduled events may be considered deductible.
*Travel expense from scheduled event to scheduled event may be considered deductible.
*RV’ers may be able to deduct RV Campground Fees.
*RV’ers may be able to claim depreciation on their RV/Trailer and tow vehicle.
*Please check with your accounting professional to be sure!
*To learn more about the IRS rules, see LINE 21 IRS Schedule A

HOW WE PAY:

NROTC pays a very generous 30% of the donations in your donation container – cash paid daily commission.

NROTC pays you an additional 10% if you schedule/book your own event without the assistance of your event coordinator – cash paid daily commission.

Withdraw your commission in cash and send the balance of donations to NROTC.

* It is NOT uncommon for nonprofits to pay commissions to fundraisers.

Earnings are commensurate with your efforts. Location and foot-traffic DOES make a difference. This can be a great way to earn money while helping us accomplish our mission.

THE LARGER THE EVENT… THE LARGER YOUR PAYCHECK!

Setting-up at Gun & Knife Shows, Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Expos, community festivals, ethnic festivals, boat shows, craft shows, car shows, biker events, concerts, conventions, sporting events… (this list just goes on and on)… is going to put you in front of more people than you will meet standing in front of a grocery store all day, not that a grocery store is all that bad.

thanksandgetwellsoon
While passers-by at your table are signing and writing their personal notes of thanks, support and encouragement on these cards, it gives you an opportunity to FUNDRAISE FOR NROTC! Most people are willing to drop some pocket change or a dollar or two in our donation box if you ask politely.

While we have work during the week, weekends are best. You MUST be willing to work on weekends.

Here a few of the great comments we get on these cards:

Some people question if paying commissions to fundraisers is right:

A Salvation Army Bell Ringer:

bellringer2

The Salvation Army raises 70 percent of its total annual income between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

While The Salvation Army has volunteers doing this job… MANY OF THEM ARE PAID MINIMUM WAGE. To read more on this, just Google: “Salvation Army + paid bell ringers”.

NROTC prefers volunteers to host our Donation Tables because we have a larger percentage for charitable mission although, we have found that many have been unreliable and we have learned through experience that we have better success, and it is more likely that someone will actually show-up and do a much better job, when they are being paid.

NROTC has also learned that paying Minimum Wage, oftentimes can produce negative results and it does NOT produce an incentive for someone to do a good job or even ask politely for donations. Paying Minimum Wage also makes it difficult for us to attract and retain really good people.

NROTC does not spend millions of dollars on expensive tv advertising like some other national charities do. Obviously donation dollars spent on advertising do not go to charitable mission either. At least the percentages NROTC pays out in commissions to our fundraisers is helping to provide jobs which is not always a bad thing.

We would rather pay a 30 or 40 percent commission on a new-found donation than to have no donation at all!

AFTER COMMISSIONS, THE BALANCE OF DONATION DOLLARS HELP TO SUPPORT NROTC’s:

veterans_assistance

FOR ACTIVE-DUTY SERVICEMEMBERS, GUARD, RESERVE, MILITARY & VETERAN FAMILIES

In today’s tough economic times, many of our servicemembers, veterans and their families, particularly those who have been recently deployed, through no fault of their own, find themselves unemployed, under-employed, homeless or AT-RISK of being homeless.

Often overlooked is the military spouse or military family who may be living on base, off base or miles from their loved-one serving… who may also be in dire need of help and support. NROTC wants to help these families also, especially the young mom with young children involved.

NROTC HELPS WITH:

*LATE MORTGAGE OR RENT PAYMENTS

*UTILITY BILL TURN-OFF NOTICES

*OVERDUE AUTO LOAN/INSURANCE PAYMENTS

*AND MORE

Like To Travel?

We are excited about one fellow who is traveling the NASCAR circuit this summer hosting a Card Signing Table at every race. Being that we are a charity, many if not most major hotel and motel chains have a standard procedure of providing AT NO COST (Or providing at extreme discount)… (Comped)… rooms to traveling nonprofit fundraisers who are in their town for a night or two, to show up at conventions, trade shows, hobby and sporting events etc. Many of the major chains REQUIRE each location to provide a certain number of “comped” hours to nonprofits each year. Getting rooms “comped” anywhere in the USA is usually as easy as a phone call.

RV’ers also can be granted “comped” temporary RV Campground stays.

Would you like to travel the country or an expanded area from home hosting our donation table at various events?

WITHOUT OVERNIGHT LODGING OR RV CAMPGROUND COSTS?

If so, we are eager to talk to you about becoming one of our ROAD WARRIORS!!!

For those of you who would prefer to have a MEANINGFUL… rather than menial job, this is it… IT’S ALSO FUN, YOU GET TO TRAVEL AND CASH IS PAID DAILY!

WE PREFER PEOPLE WHO PUT MISSION FIRST… MONEY SECOND!

Because our representatives are dealing with cash, we only hire trustworthy people.
WE USE THE HONOR SYSTEM!

WE CONDUCT BACKGROUND CHECKS PRIOR TO HIRING!

Does this sound like something you would like to do?
