TWITTER Is A Powerful Recruiting Tool If You Know How To Use It!

TWITTER has over 310 million monthly active users.

If you do not have a TWITTER account you’ll need to get one. Get yours here: twitter.com

If you already have a TWITTER profile you are ahead of the game. Otherwise you will need to start from scratch.

Note: The following are only suggestions. Your TWITTER profile belongs to you… Not NROTC!

Add your own “head and shoulders” profile picture or use NROTC’s Official Seal that is up to you.

Right-Click NROTC’s Official Seal to the right to save it to your computer for uploading to TWITTER.

Add your new position as Division Event Coordinator with NROTC to your TWITTER profile in the short section that appears directly under the profile image. You might want to add “We Are Hiring Nationwide at National Remember Our Troops Campaign – Apply Today – Start Tomorrow!” – Space is limited here so you might need to be a little creative in regards to what you write.

There is a spot underneath your profile image to include a link. I recommend that you enter NROTC’s “Tablerep Employment Page” page here.

Take a look at my TWITTER profile page for an example: Click Here
“Follow” me on TWITTER if you haven’t already.

Not knowing just how familiar you are with TWITTER most of this is easy. If you are unfamiliar, you should be able to get the hang of it easy enough.

Let’s examine the TWITTER recruiting process:

Following & Followers:

Following someone on Twitter means:
You are subscribing to their Tweets as a follower.
Their updates will appear in your Home tab.
That person is able to send you Direct Messages.

What are followers?

Followers are people who receive your Tweets. If someone follows you:

They’ll show up in your followers list.
They’ll see your Tweets in their home timeline whenever they log in to Twitter.
You can start a private conversation (Direct Messages) with them.

WHAT IS A “TWEET”?

A Tweet is any message posted to Twitter which may contain photos, videos, links and up to 140 characters of text. Click the Tweet button to post.

Okay so I hope you can see that if you are recruiting using TWITTER, one way to do this is to “Follow” people in an effort to have them in-turn, become one of your “Followers”… while driving a percentage of them to your TWITTER profile page and then on to our “Employment Information Page”.

Use the TWITTER “Search” feature to find people.

According to a Gallop survey, “Six Out Of Seven People Are Unhappy at Work”. Maybe following salespeople who are currently working could be a good idea because so many of them will consider changing jobs if the offer, and the timing is right. If the timing is not right now, the timing might be right later. If they are “Following” you, you now have a great way to “Tweet” them a job offer from time to time

HASHTAGS:

Help people find your content by hashtagging your tweets. The # symbol in front of keywords identifies your tweets to users searching for related information. For instance, the use of #jobs, #hiring, #work, #SalesJobs #VeteranJobs #JobPostings #EmploymentOpportunities or whatever you like will attract job seekers and expand the reach of your tweets. When hashtagging phrases, always capitalize each word in the phrase.

Hashtag Hint: Because you are looking for people who reside within your division, I recommend that you also post tweets with more specific hashtags such as #Jobs(YourState) #Jobs(YourCity) #(YourState)SalesJobs #(YourCity)SalesJobs #Employment(YourState) #Employment(YourCity) etc.

Copy and Paste any of my Tweets or use your own content or hashtag ideas. Tweet regularly and often for best results.… Right click to save these to your computer for uploading when tweeting your employment ads.
