A Great Way To Support Troops and Veterans!

We welcome you to volunteer from anywhere in the USA!

While you can help us by sponsoring almost any type of event, which is explained further below on this page… Primarily, we look for volunteers who want to host “Card Signing” Tables in front of Walmarts, grocery stores, 7-Elevens and such… as well as setting-up at school, at work, at sporting events, at community events and other public gatherings too numerous to mention them all.

Many people are willing to drop a little spare change or a dollar or two in your donation box.

HOW WE HELP THOSE IN NEED:

NROTC works to provide emergency financial aid and assistance to those who have served honorably, who have met with hard times, who could use a hand-up.
The amount of financial aid we can provide is limited by the amount of donations we receive!

WHY IS FUNDRAISING IMPORTANT?

Donations are the life’s blood of many charities including NROTC. According to The National Council of Nonprofits, “Most charitable nonprofits rely upon the generosity of donors for some or all of their funding. Consequently, fundraising is an activity of major importance to the nonprofit sector.”

According to The Institute for Human Services, “All nonprofits rely on volunteers to accomplish the work they do.

According to The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), about 154,000 Veterans are homeless on a typical night in America. Over the course of a year, approximately twice that many experience homelessness.

According to The National Coalition For Homeless Veterans, the most effective programs for homeless and at-risk veterans are nonprofit groups.

Government money, while important, is limited, and available services are often at capacity. It is critical, therefore, that nonprofit groups reach out to help provide the support, resources and opportunities that most Americans take for granted.

NROTC IS COLLABORATING WITH THE VA and other government agencies, to reach out and help, to the best of our ability, ANY VETERAN, MILITARY OR VETERAN FAMILY IN NEED!

In many cases, NROTC is able to help, BY PROVIDING AN EMERGENCY CHECK… to make a delinquent rent or mortgage payment, a utility payment or a car loan payment to get them back and forth to work etc.

Unlike most if not all government agencies, NROTC is often able to make these payments quickly without red-tape… after a simple application and investigative process.

NROTC believes that no veteran or military family, especially a military family with young children involved, should ever find themselves living on the streets due to lack of transportation, meaningful employment or government assistance.

Gratuity Items on your table are OPTIONAL and NOT REQUIRED

Having a few inexpensive items on your table to offer as a “Thank You” gift for any donation… is a great way to increase donations. We allow you to reimburse your expense for these items.

LOCATION… LOCATION… LOCATION…

Setting-up at Gun & Knife Shows, Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Expos, community festivals, boat shows, craft shows, concerts, conventions, sporting events etc… is going to put you in front of more people than you will meet at a grocery store, not that a grocery store is all that bad. If you like interacting with people… THIS IS A FUN WAY TO VOLUNTEER!

A weekend spent at a high foot-traffic event will obviously result in more cards being signed and more donations arriving in NROTC’s Donation Box!

EXPENSES, EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT:

NROTC provides for expense reimbursement for certain expenses such as mileage at 25 cents per mile to and from your home, road tolls, initial table supplies, additional table supplies, any table setup or registration fees that may be charged by any event promoter and gratuity items purchased from NROTC or any other vendor.

Any and all reimbursements are limited to 25% of the amount in your donation container and except for mileage, receipts are required. Issuing a check in advance to a volunteer or issuing a check back as reimbursement for expenses paid is not NROTC policy.

Card Signing Tables Not For You?

You can sponsor or conduct other events like bake sales, yard sales, motorcycle rides, car shows, pasta dinners, fishing tournaments, concerts, dances, bull roasts etc. Share your unique skills and hobbies while raising awareness for NROTC today.

Use Your Imagination!

Your passions and hobbies are unique so consider hosting a one-of-a-kind fundraising effort for your community pertaining to your likes or skills.

More about Card-Signing Tables:

While many larger events charge a registration or table fee… THE GOOD NEWS IS… that most of these event promoters are willing to allow a nonprofit to setup a table at their event AT NO COST… or at least provide a table at extreme discount… for a military and veterans charity who is getting cards signed for our troops and hospitalized veterans while raising money to support veterans in need and their families.

It usually only takes a phone call to the event promoter to explain who we are and what we do, to obtain a discount or have the table fee completely waived!

Depending on where you live, there is probably more than one high-traffic event in your area every weekend. Finding these events and contacting the event promoter’s contact information is easy to do using the internet.

You should be able to find some good events within easy traveling distance at EventLister.com

Typically, you will setup your table in front of stores by appointment and store managers will sign off on your arrival and departure times. This way you will have ACCURATE & VERIFIABLE volunteer hours reports that you or NROTC can send to any Volunteer Coordinator or Supervising Authority.

ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE AUTHORIZED BY NROTC BEFORE DOING ANY CARD-SIGNING TABLE SETUPS OR OTHER FUNDRAISING EVENTS!

After each day of volunteering is done, count out your donations, subtract your authorized expenses and mail the difference along with those important signed cards to NROTC.

Make our mission your mission and you will sleep good at night knowing you are doing your part to help and support our troops, our veterans and military or veteran families in need.
