Our State has erected a memorial, (at Red Rock Canyon) last year for our fallen soldiers and unfortunately we just added new names this past weekend. My daughter served 8yrs., active-duty, in the U.S. Navy, 1yr. in the Reserves. My son served 9yrs., active-duty, with the U.S. Air Force. I am very proud of my children for serving and fully support our troops all over the world, as well as in the United States. I feel there is no higher calling in this world, than to serve and protect your country, even at the cost of a life. Our military are the finest in the world and I have the highest honor and respect for each and everyone serving or that has served. My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones.

My father, now deceased, a 1st generation immigrant was a veteran of WWII, and always told me that it was one of the highlights of his life to serve his country. Although as a younger man I did not serve in the Armed Forces, today I have the utmost respect for those that have and are currently serving. After the events: Oklahoma City, the Cole bombing, 9/11 and numerous embassy bombings overseas and todays Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, I am so thankful to the young men and women who put their lives on the line everyday for our freedoms.
