Corporate Philanthropy, Workplace Giving and Volunteering

A Corporate Branding Secret many businesses overlook is showing how their company supports America’s Troops & Veterans

National Remember Our Troops Campaign

INVITES YOUR COMPANY, LARGE OR SMALL, TO SUPPORT AMERICA’S PROUD MILITARY TROOPS AND VETERANS.

Volunteer At Work

We invite you to find one or several of your employees who will volunteer to host a unique, simple and easy-to-implement

WORKPLACE CARD SIGNING STATION

ANY COUNTER OR TABLE WILL DO JUST FINE!

Thanking Veterans

THESE POSTCARDS GO A LONG WAY TO SHOW THEM WE CARE!

The employees of your company will be given an opportunity to sign “Thank You For Your Service Postcards” that we send to our active-duty troops. On the back of each card is a space for adding personal hand-written notes of thanks, support and encouragement. Ask any servicemember, “MAIL FROM HOME IS GOLD!”

Also at your WORKPLACE CARD SIGNING STATION will be “Get Well Soon Cards”, which after being signed are hand-delivered to convalescing veterans in military and VA hospitals. The little things go a long way!

Here a few of the great comments our troops receive on these cards:

Setting-up and hosting a Card Signing Table at your business is simple and easy.

“Show that your company supports our troops and veterans”
…and get people involved in doing the same!

If your company has more than one location, host a CARD SIGNING STATION at each one.

Can you think of any group of people more deserving of support other than America’s troops and veterans?

– Join NROTC in the battle to end Veteran Homelessness –

“In today’s tough economic times, many of our military veterans, particularly those who have been recently deployed, find themselves unemployed, under-employed, homeless or AT-RISK of being homeless.”

Help End Veteran Homelessness

YES… There are 15,000 Wounded Warriors Out There… NROTC does our part to help them and we applaud the efforts of other groups. According to The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), there are over ten times that many… about 154,000 veterans who are homeless on a typical night in America. Over the course of a year, approximately twice that many experience homelessness.

Nearly 20 percent of military servicemembers who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan, (300,000 in all), report symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD) or major depression.

The VA and homeless veteran service providers are seeing increased numbers of veterans with children seeking their assistance.

Help Veterans With PTSD

The devastating effects of war lead to severe depression, broken relationships, drug and alcohol abuse, unemployment, homelessness, violence, incarceration and more including suicide.

PTSD Suicide has reached an alarming 18 per day! Many of our veterans really need help!

NROTC’s LOCAL OUTREACH:

NROTC & Operation Reveille

NROTC is officially partnered with The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, (VA) in their latest groundbreaking effort to end veteran homelessness, Operation Reveille. The VA is in the process of conducting over 200 “Operation Reveille” Stand Downs in local communities throughout the USA during 2017. Operation Reveille Stand Downs are typically one- to three-day events providing supplies and services to homeless Veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling.

Local Stand Downs are widely publicized in an effort to attract those local veterans who are in need. At these Stand Downs, NROTC provides basic needs items as well as making veterans aware of the services our organization is able to provide including debt negotiation, VA benefits counseling and PTSD assistance. HELPING OUR VETERANS IN NEED:

Donations are the life’s blood of most charities including NROTC.

We hope that every VOLUNTEER WORKPLACE CARD SIGNING STATION will include a donation container.

While people are signing their cards, we suggest that your volunteer politely ask for donations of any amount. Donations gathered while cards are being signed help to support…

THE NROTC

NROTC Veterans Assistance Hotline

NROTC’s VETERANS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM is our attempt to help those veterans who have honorably served, and through no fault of their own, have fallen upon hard times. Government money is limited and services are often at capacity. Many veterans fall through the cracks.

NROTC ASSISTS WITH:

*LATE MORTGAGE OR RENT PAYMENTS

*UTILITY BILL TURN-OFF NOTICES

*OVERDUE AUTO LOAN/INSURANCE PAYMENTS

*AND MORE

NROTC’s ASSISTANCE HELPLINE is unique in its services. The 800# is answered live and is not a recording unless a member of our Professional Services Team is assisting another Veteran or Military Family. Our specialists are experienced service officers who work directly with the VA, other charities and corporations who provide direct assistance and grants. EVERY MISSED CALL IS CALLED BACK WITHIN 48 HOURS. So far in 2017 NROTC has received 255 calls resulting in confirmed assistance to 241 Veterans and Military Families.

NROTC believes that no veteran or military family, especially a military family with young children involved, should ever find themselves living on the streets due to lack of transportation, meaningful employment or government assistance.

THERE IS VERY LITTLE COST TO YOUR COMPANY TO SETUP AND HOST A WORKPLACE VOLUNTEER CARD SIGNING STATION!

– All you need is ONE EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEER! –
